WOMAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT

A Roseburg woman was jailed following an alleged assault on Thursday.
A report from the Roseburg Police said just after 10:15 a.m. a 25-year old woman was reported to be walking down Pine Street, swinging a metal pipe. It said she chased a male victim down the street for allegedly stealing her phone and throwing her clothes out of his tent. The report said the woman reportedly hit the man with the pipe, causing severe damage to the victim’s elbows and arm. That impaired the man’s ability to use them. He also sustained blows to the shoulders, affecting his ability to walk.
The woman was charged with second degree counts of assault and disorderly conduct.
Bail was initially set at $256,250.
