A garage burned Thursday night in Roseburg.
Fire Marshal Monte Bryan of the Roseburg Fire Department said at 9:00 p.m. crews were sent to the fire in the 600 block of Northeast Nash Street.
Bryan said firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the structure. The garage was set back from the street and down a short driveway. Bryan said firefighters initially made an exterior attack and then moved inside to extinguish the fire and do overhaul work. The building was not occupied. Bryan said getting the fire out quickly stopped it from spreading to nearby residential structures.
A total of 10 firefighters worked on the fire. They were assisted by Roseburg Police, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and Avista Utilities.
Bryan said the garage sustained structural and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
