A Sutherlin man was jailed after allegedly trying to elude police on Monday.
Captain Kurt Sorenson of the Sutherlin Police said just after 2:30 a.m. an officer attempted to stop a pickup in the area of North Comstock and West Sixth Avenue. Sorenson said the vehicle was driven by 45-year old Michael Dowell, who had a warrant out for his arrest. The report said the driver didn’t stop and a short vehicle pursuit was initiated. Sorenson said the man drove to his residence where he was arrested and his vehicle was impounded.
Dowell was charged with felony counts of driving while suspended and attempting to elude police, and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
