No one was hurt when a school bus was in a traffic accident on Thursday morning.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 7:15 a.m. a 49-year old woman was driving the bus and turned from Highway 99 South onto Speedway Road in Green. A car hit the bus, causing very little damage, according to the report.
Only two students were on the bus at the time of the accident. The driver who caused the wreck was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
Transportation Supervisor Denny Austin of the Roseburg School District told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the students were transferred to an alternate bus, which completed the route with little delay. Austin said the bus hit was inspected and released to be used on afternoon routes.
