DFPA REDUCES FIRE RESTRICTIONS

August 11, 2019 7:30 a.m.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association has reduced fire restrictions on both industrial operators and the general public as of Saturday morning.
The Industrial Fire Precaution Level has dropped to IFPL 2 and the fire danger is currently considered to be Moderate on all DFPA protected lands.
Under IFPL 2 some activities are still prohibited on industrial operations between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. including the use of power saws, except at loading sites, feller-bunchers with rotary head saws, cable yarding, blasting, and the cutting, grinding, or welding of metal.
In addition to the IFPL 2 restrictions, there is also a fire watch required for at least 2 hours after work has completed for the day.
Industrial landowners and public land management agencies may require a longer fire watch on lands they own or manage.
DFPA Public Use Restrictions remain in effect for the general public under IFPL 2.
All backyard debris burning remains prohibited and during Moderate Fire Danger the non-industrial activities that are prohibited between the same hours of 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. include the use of power saws, cutting, grinding or welding of metal, the cutting, trimming, or mowing of dead or dry grass, the use of power driven machinery not specifically mentioned in DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions.
