Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association dealt with a fire in the Camas Valley area on Thursday afternoon.
Kyle Reed of DFPA said firefighters from their agency along with Camas Valley Rural Fire Department and Tenmile Rural Fire Department responded to a natural cover fire near the 2,000 block of Upper Camas Road shortly after 3:30 p.m. Reed said crews found a fire moving through a recently cut hay field. An aggressive attack by the landowner and fire crews stopped the forward spread of the Upper Camas Road Fire at ½ acre of grass and brush.
Reed said a preliminary investigation indicated the cause of the fire was related to agricultural activities.
