A Roseburg woman was jailed on Wednesday night, accused of threatening police.
Information from the Roseburg Police Department said at about 6:15 p.m. 48-year old Julie Jackson was contacted by officers regarding a disturbance with an elderly male. The woman allegedly punched the man in the face. When officers attempted to contact her, the report said she pulled out a knife. The suspect eventually threw the knife in the grass and took off running. After a very short foot pursuit, officers caught her and forced her to the ground. The woman allegedly fought with officers but was eventually taken into custody.
Jackson was initially charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest. She was detained without bail. Her arrest took place near the corner of Jackson and Lane downtown.
