TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR PAWS FOR A CAUSE

July 5, 2019 3:35 a.m.
Tickets are now available for Paws for a Cause.
The premiere fundraising event for Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center in Roseburg will be held on Friday August 2nd.
Executive Director Wendy Kang said it’s the nonprofits “signature event” and with it they raise about 25% of their private funding each year.
Now in its tenth year, Paws for a Cause features both a live and silent auction, dinner, live music, and dancing. Kang said cheetah Khayam Junior from Wildlife Safari, along with his adopted brother Rhino will be making a special appearance. Rhino is a mixed-breed puppy that was adopted through Saving Grace, to be Khayam Junior’s lifelong companion.
Several dogs from Saving Grace will also mix and mingle with the crowd. Kang said this is a natural extension of the Fido Field Trip program from Saving Grace, in which volunteers “check-out” a dog from the Adoption Center for an offsite excursion. Kang said the one-on-one time outside of the facility, alleviates the stress often associated with shelter life. Kang said it also helps socialize the dogs so they are more adoptable.
Dinner will include tri-tip, chicken, and grilled portabella mushroom caps, plus fresh vegetables from Kruse Farms. A Dessert Dash will be held to see which table can outdo the others with contributions to Saving Grace, to win first choice from the dessert table. The evening will be capped off with music from classic rock band Flashbak.
Paws for a Cause will be held at the Saving Grace facility just off of old Del Rio Road, north of Roseburg. The silent auction and reception start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per person, or $400 for a table of 8. All proceeds will benefit Saving Grace. For more information go to www.savinggrace.info.
