Riverbend Live begins its 2019 season Friday night at Riverbend Park in Winston.
5 years after leading in the creation of Music on the Half Shell in Roseburg, Dick Nichols, joined by his wife Mo, started Riverbend Live. The series runs for 5 weeks and offers a variety of music, including a night of cowboy poetry and western music, plus an annual youth theatre production.
In its 23^rd year, Riverbend Live begins with a high energy Memphis group playing an organic soul, blues and R&B fusion. They are known as Southern Avenue:
Riverbend Live is free to the public, and funded by sponsorships from businesses, foundations, and individuals. Those attending can bring their dinner, along with beer and wine. Blankets can be put out during the day. Take Interstate Five to exit 119 and follow the signs to Winston.
