A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4:00 p.m. Sunday through 4:00 p.m. Monday for the eastern Douglas County foothills, south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow accumulations of up to 13 inches in the Cascades and up to 5 inches in the eastern Douglas County foothills are expected. Winds will gust as high as 50 miles per hour over the Cascades.

The Advisory area includes the eastern Douglas County foothills above 2,500 feet including Toketee Falls and Diamond Lake.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and lead to blowing snow which could significantly reduce visibility. Snowfall will be the heaviest Monday morning when rates in the Cascades will approach 1 inch per hour.

Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
