Over 49 percent of local voters have cast a ballot in the November General Election.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 43,282 ballots that have been received lags slightly behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2018 November General Election.

Loomis said Monday was the largest single-day of ballots received, as 11.05 percent, or 9,719 ballots were turned in. Even a greater number is expected to be turned in on Tuesday.

Those who take their ballot to the post office Tuesday should ask that it be stamped with a hand-cancellation stamp. A ballot with a postmark after November 8th will not be counted. Voters who use a blue USPS mailbox should check the pickup time for that mailbox. A ballot placed in the mailbox after the last pick-up will not receive a postmark, before the election.
