Sutherlin Police jailed a man who allegedly assaulted law enforcement officers early Monday.
An SPD report said at about 2:00 a.m. an officer was heading to a domestic violence call when 23-year Keis Holmes allegedly jumped in front of his patrol vehicle, in an attempt to get hit. This took place near the corner of Mardonna Way and East Second Avenue. It was determined that Holmes was the male half of the domestic violence call.
The report said the man was suffering from PTSD psychosis and was heavily intoxicated. While trying to detain Holmes, he yelled at officers to shoot him on several occasions and a fight ensued. The man was eventually taken into custody. During the struggle, one officer suffered apparently minor injuries.
Holmes was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and for two counts of assaulting a public safety officer. Holmes was detained without bail.
