WORKSHOP OFFERED FOR PRODUCTION OF SHIITAKE MUSHROOM LOGS

November 2, 2022 3:30 a.m.

The Oregon State University Extension Service welcomes the community to attend a workshop on producing Shiitake mushrooms on December 9th.

The Making Shiittake Happen Workshop will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension Annex in Roseburg.

Staff with the Oregon State Small Farms Program will be leading attendees in the step-by-step process of choosing suitable logs, spawns and other materials for producing Shiitake logs. During this hands-on workshop, attendees will prepare, inoculate or seal their own Shiitake logs to take home with them. The logs produced in this class can be used as a source of fresh shiitake mushrooms, or will make an excellent holiday gift.

The workshop costs $15. Registration is required by December 2nd.
