Through October 28th, Umpqua Health’s Mobile Outreach Team is collecting essential winter clothing and other items for at-risk community members as part of its second annual Comfort Drive.

A release said the team is part of an ongoing effort to better serve members of the community by providing supplies and resources to help them succed as they take care of their overall health.

Umpqua Health CEO Brent Eichmann said, “Winter weather in Douglas County can be very dangerous, even deadly”. Eichmann said, “As part of Umpqua Health’s mission to improve the health of our community, we want to make sure every person has adequate winter clothing, blankets and other clothing items to be safe and warm”.

The release said residents can participate in the drive by donating new and packaged items for those ages 15 and older: Socks, underwear, bras, undershirts, camisoles, long underwear, blankets and hand warmers. Collection bins are posted at:

*Sportsman’s Warehouse on Northwest Stewart Parkway

*Douglas County Farmers Co-op on Northeast Stephens Street
