It was a light agenda for Monday night’s meeting of the Roseburg City Council.
The council accepted with regrets Sheri Moothart’s resignation from her Ward 1 Position 2 seat and declared it vacant. Staff was directed to solicit applications from people interested in filling the remainder of the term, which runs through the end of 2024.
The council declared a vacancy on the Public Works Commission, with condolences. Noel Groshong recently passed away.
Following a public hearing, the council had first reading of an ordinance to annex a small parcel of land on Northeast Housley Avenue into the city.
Mayor Larry Rich proclaimed October 9th through 15th as Fire Prevention Week.
The 7:00 p.m. meeting was adjourned 16 minutes after it began. The next council meeting will be October 24th.
