EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT DINNER MONDAY NIGHT

October 10, 2022 3:50 a.m.

Feeding Umpqua, a program of the United Community Action Network, will have its Empty Bowls Project Dinner Monday night.

The event will run from 5:30 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. at the Joyce Morgan Distribution Center on the UCAN campus, on Northeast Stephens Street, just north of Roseburg. Funds raised support the organization, which distributes nearly two million pounds of food annually to over 40 food sites throughout the county. Every month, over 16,000 people receive food from these locations.

Those attending can select a bowl created by local craftspeople and community members, and then enjoy a meal of soup and bread. At the end of the evening, they can choose to keep their bowl, or donate it back for future years. Around a dozen local restaurants and businesses are participating in the dinner. The evening will also include art from Max Smoot and music by Blue Meridian.

Tickets are $30 per person at the door. Call Feeding Umpqua at 492-3508 for more information.
