Roseburg Public Library will have a Facebook Live streaming event, “Mushrooms of Oregon – Fall 2022”, with mycology expert Jordan Weiss on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.

A release said Weiss, who lives in Portland, has been sharing his knowledge of fungi for decades. He has worked with groups like the Oregon State University Master Gardener program and Telluride Mushroom Festival as well as mushroom clubs in Salem, Estacada and Bend.

Weiss’ presentation will cover what mushrooms are, their ecological niches, when and where to find them, and how to forage. Several recipes will also be shared.

A moderated Q&A session will follow the presentation. Questions may be submitted to library staff before the event at: library@cityofroseburg.org, or by calling 492-7050. Viewers who have a Facebook account can post questions during the event on the live stream.
