The McComas Creek Fire burned a quarter acre in the Idleyld Park area Wednesday afternoon.
Rachael Pope of the Douglas Forest Protective Association said at 3:45 p.m. crews from DFPA and the Glide Rural Fire Protection District responded to the fire in an active logging operation near the 2000 block of Rock Creek Road.
Pope said a quick initial attack by responders, including assistance from a Type 2 helicopter, had the fire knocked down by just before 5:30 p.m. With the assistance of a requested logging crew, forty percent of the mop up was completed by 6:40 p.m. Crews remained on the scene overnight until the mop up process was complete.
