UNOFFICIAL FINAL ELECTION RESULTS RELEASED IN DOUGLAS COUNTY

The Douglas County Clerk’s Office released Unofficial Final Results for the May Primary Election, Wednesday afternoon.

Clerk Daniel Loomis told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that 1,609 additional ballots have come in since the last update May 19th. Loomis said that brought the percentage of residents casting a vote up four percentage points to forty-two percent.

While more ballots have been counted, there has been no change in any measure or race.

The Roseburg School District $154 million bond levy remains defeated with no percentage change. 56 percent of voters were against the measure with 44 percent in favor. The South Umpqua School District $20.9 million bond levy lost with the voting percentage still at 63 percent against and 37 percent in favor. The Days Creek School District’s $4 million bond levy fails with 55 percent of property owners voting no and 45 percent voting yes.

All three Douglas County Commissioners have been re-elected with no percentage change for any candidate in the three races. Tom Kress wins with 73 percent of the vote, while Tim Freeman has 55 percent of the vote and Chris Boice wins with 51 percent.

Ballot questions for voters in the Camas Valley Rural Fire District and in the City of Reedsport have won.

The Greater Idaho measure loses with an identical 53 to 47 percent margin, as compared to the last set of results.

In the race for Douglas County Circuit Court – Position 4, Robert Johnson wins with 62 percent of the vote compared to 37 percent for Jason Thomas. There was no percentage change in that race either.

Loomis said Official Certified Results for Douglas County will be sent to the Oregon Secretary of State’s office sometime between June 8th and June 13th. That is the window allowed under state law.
