Oregon Governor Kate Brown and U.S. Senator Ron Wyden were among many issuing statements following the passing of Gerry Frank on Sunday.

Brown said, “It is hard to overstate Gerry Frank’s contributions, through decades of service, to our community in Salem and to the state of Oregon. As the Chief of Staff to Senator Mark Hatfield for over 20 years, he was sometimes called Oregon’s Third Senator. He also advised countless governors throughout the years, myself included. I am lucky to have called Gerry a trusted counselor and friend”.

Senator Ron Wyden said “Gerry Frank lived the Oregon Way with every fiber of his being. Every single day, he cared deeply about making Oregon a better place. My friend was a definitive Oregonian. He leaves us with sadness at his passing, but also gratitude for his timeless legacy of public service”.
