A Winter Weather Advisory for mountain areas in the region is in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Monday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the Advisory is for the south-central Oregon Cascades, Siskiyou Mountains and southern Oregon Cascades, including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake.

3 to 6 inches of snow is expected, with winds gusting as high as 35 miles per hour in exposed areas. Forecasters said roads may become snow covered and slippery, leading to travel difficulties.
