The Douglas County Public Works Department, in conjunction with the Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad, will be closing a small section of Stearns Lane in Oakland to all traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A release said the closure is necessary to conduct track maintenance at the railroad crossing near the intersection of Southeast Front Street and Stearns Lane. Stearns Lane will be closed from that intersection to Lake Shore Drive during that period. Through traffic will be asked to use a detour about one-mile west of town on Stearns Lane, that utilizes Crystal Lane to Old Highway 99 North.

The closure may impact the drive times of those who need to pass through that area.
