Three men in a boat were rescued from the South Umpqua River on Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 2:30 p.m. a Roseburg man was navigating the rapids behind the county fairgrounds and got struck on a rock. The boat immediately started taking on water. Douglas County Fire District No. 2 responded and was able to get everyone out of the boat.

The report said a plan was made to recover the boat. Everyone had life jackets on when help arrived and no one was injured.
