Due to the high numbers of COVID-19 cases and exposures and the additional illnesses of flu and bronchitis at both the high school and elementary school, the Glendale School District has decided to cancel classes for Wednesday and Thursday. The district is on a four day a week schedule.

Superintendent David Hanson told News Radio 1240 KQEN that 50 percent of the student body is currently absent and multiple staff members are not able to work.

Hanson said Glendale will attempt to resume instruction next Monday. He is hoping the short closure will stem the tide of exposures and infections so that instruction can resume. Families are asked to monitor students carefully. Hanson said he has appreciated all the support that parents have provided to keep schools open by keeping their children home when they are ill.

Teachers at the high school will be working with students as they complete work for credits this semester. Anyone with questions should call the school office.
