AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY STARTING SATURDAY NIGHT

January 22, 2022 6:00 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory will be in effect from Saturday night at 10:00 p.m. through next Saturday morning at 4:00 a.m.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said a period of stagnant air with light winds and poor mixing is expected. This Advisory applies to south central and southwest Oregon including central Douglas County.

Forecasters said air stagnation could result in the development and persistence of deteriorating air quality.

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor burning occur and that residential and wood burning devices be limited as much as possible. Prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants close to the ground where people live and breathe.
