3 MORE DEATHS, 781 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 43 NEW PRESUMPTIVE

3 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 781 more people have received new positive test results, and 43 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Weekly Update covered data reported from January 13th through Wednesday.

The new deaths include:

*A 69-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on November 26th and passed away on January 11th. She was not vaccinated.

*A 70-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on January 5th and passed away on January 12th. He was not vaccinated.

*A 75-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on January 12th and passed away on Tuesday. She was fully vaccinated.

The Update said the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the county is now at 322. The total number of cases is now at 15,981. Of those, 15,342 are people that have received positive test results and 639 are presumptive. 25 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 21 locally and 4 outside the area. In the past week, CHI Mercy Medical Center averaged 3 COVID-19 positive patients a day in the Intensive Care Unit and 3 COVID-19 positive patients in the Progressive Care Unit. 18 of the 25 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
