Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 4:00 p.m. Friday for mountain areas in southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches are expected, with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour. The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, including Crater Lake.

Forecasters said travel could be difficult with longer travel times. Snowfall will approach 1 inch per hour at times.
