A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following an alleged disorderly conduct incident early Thursday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday night at about 11:30 p.m. a victim said the suspect was inside her recreational vehicle with a gun threatening to shoot the occupants because he believed that his girlfriend was inside. The suspect was visibly intoxicated but a deputy could not substantiate any crime.

An hour later the victim called back and said the man had shot through a window of the RV. The investigation revealed that the suspect had actually thrown a full tub of cottage cheese at the RV, hitting the sleeping compartment where the victim had been sleeping.

The 44-year old suspect was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief. He was released later in the morning.
