DOUGLAS ELECTRIC POWER UPDATE

December 27, 2021 11:15 a.m.

As of 11:00 a.m. Monday, the Douglas Electric Cooperative has approximately 950 members still without power due to the recent snowfall.

Assistant General Manager Phil Bigler said the largest majority, around 660, are in the southern portion of their service area from Lookingglass to Camas Valley. Bigler said there are over 60 individual outages spread throughout their service territory. Bigler said unfortunately, it often takes just as much time to restore a large outage as it does a small one when working in adverse conditions. That means progress has been slower than preferred.
