Two people were jailed by deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.

A DCSO report said at about 10:30 a.m. a deputy stopped a sedan in the 800 block of Eagle Valley Drive. Dispatch said the driver had several misdemeanor warrants and a felony warrant. While arresting 41-year old James Fairbanks, the deputy allegedly noticed 4 small blue pills in the driver seat. Fairbanks said they were fentanyl. The suspect said he also had methamphetamine in the center console, which was seized, though it was a violation amount. Fairbanks was held on $52,000 bail.

A woman was in the passenger seat and gave a false name before confirming her identify. She said she had meth in her purse, which was seized, but it was a violation amount. She was detained.

The report said mail and numerous checks in various people’s names were located in the woman’s purse. Deputies are following up to check for potential victims. Both people denied taking them but didn’t have an answer for where they came from.
