Interstate 5 southbound is now open from Ashland going into California.

Gary Leaming of the Oregon Department of Transportation said that California lifted its closure early Thursday afternoon. Northbound traffic into Oregon is open north of Redding. The freeway was shut down for 19 hours due to snow and windy conditions.
