DEFAZIO SAYS OREGON WILL RECEIVE OVER $662 MILLION FROM INFRASTRUCTURE LAW

On Thursday, Congressman Peter DeFazio announced that Oregon will receive over $662 million under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

DeFazio said that will address “…long overdue” long overdue upgrades and safety improvements on the state’s roads, highways and bridges. As Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, DeFazio was a lead sponsor on the legislation.

DeFazio said, “This new funding announced by the Federal Highway Administration marks a new beginning for Oregon and the nation’s infrastructure”.

Nearly $366 million will be for the National Highway Performance Program with nearly $178 million allotted for the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program. Over $38 million is for the Highway Improvement Program. Several other programs are receiving funding as well.
