At the request of Caltrans, the Oregon Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 5 southbound at Ashland.

An ODOT release said the closure is due to blizzard conditions, heavy snow and multiple disabled vehicles. Earlier, Caltrans closed the freeway southbound at Weed, due to poor conditions and disabled vehicles south to Redding.

There is no estimated time of reopening.
