Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for central Douglas County and much of the region, including nearby mountain areas.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected above 1,500 feet, with additional accumulations of up to 5 inches. The Warning area also includes the eastern foothills in Douglas County, all of Josephine County, and eastern Curry County.

For the south-central Oregon Cascades, including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake, 2 to 6 inches of snow are forecast with winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour. This also includes highways 62, 138, 58, 230 and 232.

Travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions. Those who do drive should plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
