In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Elf the Musical opens Thursday night, presented by Umpqua Actors Community Theatre.

It is being presented in Jacoby Auditorium at Umpqua Community College. Executive Director Melody Schwegel said it is the organizations first large indoor production in nearly two years, due to COVID-19. Shows this week are Thursday through Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m. Next week performances will be Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Schwegel said this Friday’s performance and the 2:00 p.m. show on December 18th are set aside for those who are vaccinated or have a negative COVID test 72 hours prior to the performance, only. Documentation will be required at the door.

Masks are required at all times while in Jacoby Auditorium. They can be removed only while outside during intermission.
