A transient was jailed after an alleged trespass incident on Thursday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 11:00 p.m. a business in the 4600 block of Carnes Road in Green, called in to say that the 46-year old man was trespassing. The report said the transient initially refused to leave or give his name. After deputies arrived, the man left and went behind the building
The suspect was warned about trespassing but almost immediately went back and stood in front of the business. He was identified as 46-year old Jose Garcia and was detained.
While being transported to the jail, Garcia allegedly spat several times in the DCSO vehicle, landing some saliva on a deputy and one of his communication devices. The deputy shut the divider between the cage and the back seat, the rest of the way.
Garcia was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, third-degree theft and for aggravated harassment. Bail was set at $52,500.
