November 12, 2021 9:10 a.m.

Oregon 138 West, also known as the Elkton to Sutherlin Highway, is expected to remain closed for the rest of Friday due to a rockslide, 10 miles south of Elkton.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said an estimated 7,000 cubic yards of rock and debris slid into the roadway earlier Friday and will need to be cleared before the highway can be opened. Latham said the rockslide is about a mile north of the Yellow Creek day use area.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
