The Roseburg City Council approved a generator project for the water treatment plant, at its meeting Monday night.

Kronsberg Electric Incorporated had the low bid of just over $2.356 million dollars. Two standby generators will be installed, one at the treatment plant and one at Reservoir Hill. In February of 2019, the plant was without power for 30 hours following a significant snow storm in the region, leading to the proposal to have standby generators.

Councilors also authorized City Manager Nikki Messenger to negotiate and enter into an agreement with Aviva Health to pay up to $140,000 for Aviva to hire and employ a Homeless Transition Action Group Coordinator for two years.

Councilors voted to cancel the November 22nd council meeting, reserving the option to call a special meeting should the need arise.
