PROPERTY TAXES DUE BY NOVEMBER 15TH

October 21, 2021 10:30 a.m.

The Douglas County Tax Collection Office is set to begin mailing property tax statements out.

A release said 2021/2022 property taxes are due by November 15th. To mitigate the spread of COVID-19 this year, the office is closed through November 26th. The office will continue to provide service remotely. Business can be conducted via phone and email weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

To pay property taxes this year, residents can:

*Mail their payment in. A cashier’s check, money order or personal check are all accepted.

*Payment can be placed in drop boxes. They are in the hallway outside the office and at the base of the steps outside the courthouse.

*Online payment can be made without any fees this year. Click the tax payment portal online: https://www.douglascountyor.us/finance/makepayment.asp

To receive a 3 percent discount, payment must be received in full by November 15th. To avoid interest and penalties, the first trimester payment must be made by that date. Since mail is often transported out of town for processing, tax payments should be mailed early to be sure they are postmarked by the due date.
