A female driver was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Saturday.

A report from Sutherlin Police said at about 12:30 p.m. a man drove his vehicle into the roadway in the 1600 block of South Calapooia Street and failed to yield to another vehicle that was headed north near the intersection with Sparks Avenue.

This caused the second vehicle to crash into the side of the first vehicle. The second driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center and was later released according to SPD. The male driver that caused the accident was cited for careless driving and for driving uninsured.
