MEDICARE ENROLLMENT UNDERWAY

Open enrollment is underway for Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans.

A release from the Oregon Department of Human Services said open enrollment for the 2022 Medicare plan year continues until December 7th.

ODHS said Medicare plans and coverage for prescription drugs change each year, so it is important for Oregonians who are enrolled in Medicare to evaluate their plan options and make changes during open enrollment.

The Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance program with ODHS is available to help Oregonians understand their Medicare options and benefits, providing enrollment guidance and answer any questions related to Medicare benefits.

ODHS Long Term Services and Supports Administrator Jane-Ellen Weidanz said “Medicare is a critical benefit for older adults and people with disabilities and navigating options available can be confusing”. She said when it comes to open enrollment, residents should not wait until the last minute, but should review their options and make choices as soon as they can.
