The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a transient in an alleged trespass incident on Wednesday.
A DCSO report said at 1:40 p.m. a caller said a man was possibly trying to break into the laundry room at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Stage Coach Road in Canyonville.
When contacted, the 30-year old suspect started to walk away. A deputy told him to stop and he refused. The transient took off running after being told he would go to jail if he didn’t stop. He eventually fell to the ground and was taken into custody.
Charges included second-degree criminal trespass and interfering with a peace officer. Bail was set at $7,500.
