6 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 84 more people have received new positive test results, and 2 more are presumptive, as of Friday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data reported Thursday and Friday.

The new deaths include a 90-year old man, a 68-year old woman, a 57-year old woman, a 69-year old woman, a 62-year old man, and an 87-year old man. None were vaccinated.

In September, 81 people died related to COVID-19 in the county. That is more than any other month during the pandemic. 37 percent of all COVID-19 related deaths in the county during the entire pandemic took place last month. 91 percent of local residents who died related to COVID-19 in September were not fully vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 11,304. Of those, 10,971 are people that have received positive test results and 333 are presumptive. 69 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 45 locally and 24 outside the area, including 1 that has been transferred out of state. 12 ventilators and 8 CPAP machines are in use. 10 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and 3 are in the Progressive Care Unit. 60 out of the 69 patients are not fully vaccinated.
