8 MORE DEATHS, 162 MORE POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 1 MORE PRESUMPTIVE

8 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 162 more people have received new positive test results, and 1 more is presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The new deaths include a 51-year old man, a 69-year old man, an 81-year old man, an 83-year old woman, a 43-year old man, a 58-year old woman, a 93-year old man, and a 95-year old woman. None were fully vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 11,218. Of those, 10,887 are people that have received positive test results and 331 are presumptive. 67 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 45 locally and 22 outside the area including 1 that has been transferred out of state. 11 ventilators and 18 BiPaP machines are in use. 12 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit and 6 are in the Progressive Care Unit. 34 percent of the total hospitalized patients at CHI Mercy Medical Center are COVID positive. 58 of the 67 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
