RAIN LEADS TO PAUSE IN REPAIR WORK ON DEVILS KNOB COMPLEX

Rain has led to a pause in repair work on the Devils Knob Complex.

An update from Pacific Northwest Team 2 said much of the equipment disengaged from repair work on Monday to prevent resource damage in the wet and muddy conditions. Some areas in the complex received nearly two inches of rain.

Fire managers will scout for favorable conditions around the multiple fire perimeters to reengage heavy equipment in the coming days. This strategy will help facilitate the movement of crews and equipment around the fires to the driest areas in order to maximize efficiencies. The chipping of woody debris continues around the perimeters on roads with hardened road surface that will not deteriorate in rainy conditions.

Containment on the Devils Knob Complex is 58 percent.
