LIMITED GROWTH ON ROUGH PATCH COMPLEX

September 24, 2021 10:40 a.m.

There has been limited growth on the Rough Patch Complex in the past day.

An update from Northwest Team 7 said firefighters were successful using direct tactics to suppress spots on the north end of the complex on Thursday. Areas along the eastern perimeter were also inspected for opportunities to use direct tactics on persistent hotspots. Crews conducted suppression repair operations, including processing logs, chipping limbs and removing debris from drainage areas. Fire behavior was limited to creeping and smoldering.

Current warm and dry weather is expected to reduce fuel moisture and increase the chance for limited active fire behavior.

The Chaos Fire is at 28,841 acres while the Little Bend Fire is at 9,417 acres. The Jack Fire remains 24,165 acres and 55 percent contained. The Buckhead Fire is unchanged at 7,237 acres.

Containment on the Rough Patch Complex is still at 42 percent.
