MAN CITED FOR SECOND-DEGREE THEFT IN TRASH CAN INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was cited for second-degree theft following a trash can incident on Wednesday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 8:15 a.m. an officer contacted a man after he was seen pushing a large trash can down the road near the corner of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and Northeast Flagg. The suspect said he took the can to transport his belongings because he could not find a grocery cart. The man was cited and released.

The trash can was returned to the correct address.
