The driver was cited following a freeway wreck on Monday.
A report from Oregon State Police said at about 6:00 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the crash which happened off the southbound lanes on Interstate Five near Oakland. A passenger car was spotted in a cow field about 200 yards off of Interstate Five. The report said the trooper could see that the vehicle had left the roadway at a high rate of speed and crashed through a wire fence before finally stopping in the field.
The driver said something had gone wrong with the car and that was what caused him to crash. The report said there was no evidence to make the driver’s story believable. The man was cited for reckless driving, driving while suspended and for not having insurance.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
