FOREST SERVICE OFFERING LABOR DAY RECREATION

September 2, 2021 3:25 a.m.

Staff with the Forest Service have tips for those wanting to recreate in national forests over the Labor Day weekend.

*Those going into forest areas should remember that fire danger is extremely high. Restrictions on motorized equipment and campfires on campgrounds and in dispersed areas are in place.

*Closures due to previous fire damage or current fire danger reduce the area available for recreation activity. Even in dispersed areas, suitable campsites could be few and far between.

*Residents should recreate responsibility. Get details on recreation basics at: https://www.recreateresponsibly.org/
