Roseburg Police have a stabbing investigation underway.

Sergeant Daniel Allen said on Wednesday at approximately 12:40 a.m. RPD responded to the area of the Stewart Park duck pond in the 1000 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, regarding a reported stabbing. Allen said when officers arrived, they found a 29-year old man was injured due to a stab wound. The injured man was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland, for further treatment.

Allen said a suspect in the case, a 28-year old Roseburg man, was identified and contacted by law enforcement. Investigators determined that the victim and the suspect knew each other. Detectives responded to assist and are continuing to investigate the matter along with help from the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

A release said at this time, this is no known ongoing threat to the general public. No charges have been filed.
